Art Slam is back for a Celebration of Youth and Creativity!
On Saturday March 3, from 9am – 4pm, head on over to the Bradenton Farmer’s Market on Old Main St. in downtown Bradenton and watch as dozens of teams of students take art onto the streets and out of the classroom at Art Slam.
Art Slam 2018 is a free event with interactive art, live music, and performances. Watch Manatee County students as they bring the city to life with temporary art in the streets.
It’s a great day to celebrate our creative youth here in Manatee County. Some of the day’s events include:
- Balloon twisting
- Stilt walking
- Middle School Jazz Bands
- Comedy Show
- Award winning artists
- Contribute to a “post-it-note” positivity wall
- “Rock” mural
- Live theater with Manatee High School
- Selfie Flowers
- Create environmentally friendly “green” masterpieces
- Collaborative Canvas of recycled art
- Japanese Gyotaku Art
- Bayshore High School Community mural
- Create your own comic
- Bradenton themed origami creations
- Sand dollar art
- Design your own tee shirt
Not all of these events are just for your viewing pleasure only. Many of them are open to public collaborations. It’s a great way to get out and express your artistic self while supporting the community.
There will be numerous performances, including clowns, music, dance, and face painting for the little ones.
Of course it’s Saturday, which means the Farmer’s Market is also in full swing. So it’s a great time to stop and see what our local vendors have to offer. The Farmer’s Market vendors include plenty of fresh produce, juice, artisans, plenty of different food vendors, flowers and assorted home items.
Follow this map for a full schedule of events as well as locations of the different venues. It is color coded with Pink for Art Slam Events, Green for Farmers Market and Purple for team check in’s.
