Fever in Children – Tips from Bradenton Pediatrician

Bradenton pediatrician Dr. Constance Charles-Logan with West Coast Pediatrics says any temperature over 100.4 is generally considered a fever.

When your child has a fever, it is usually, but not always, an indication of some infection in the body.

Call your pediatrician if the fever persist for more than 24 hours in a child younger than 2 years.

If your child is 2 years of age or older, call your pediatrician if it persists for more than 3 days and they are actively sick or getting worse.

Parents should not wake up a sleeping child to administer a fever-reducer.
