Fun Events for Kids in April
Can you believe how quickly 2018 is flying by! Spring Break is over and before you know it, summer will be here! Below are some fun events to keep the kids entertained during the month of April.
Family Night at the Museum
Most months on the first Saturday, the South Florida Museum will stay open late for a fun filled evening of family fun. Each month has a different theme with hands-on activities which begin at 3pm and run until 7pm.
This month the activity is “Make it Count”. Was 6 really afraid of 7? Should we be afraid of math? No way! For this Family Night, roll up your sleeves and have fun with numbers. Learn how math and measurement help people travel, build, and understand our world and beyond.
Museum admission is reduced during Family Nights after 3pm.
Teen Idol Contest
Do you have an aspiring young singer in your family? The Manatee Performing Arts Center is hosting a Teen Idol Contest on Friday April 13th at 8pm and would like to invite aspiring young performers to apply. All teens between the ages of 13-18 are eligible to participate in this performance based competition.
Beach’N Food Truck and Music Festival
This annual music festival takes place on April 14th from 10 am – 8 pm. There will be music playing all day. It is a FREE family friendly event. It takes place right on the south end of Coquina Beach and will have plenty of opportunities for shopping, eating, and entertainment. There will be a kid’s fun zone complete with games, bounce houses and plenty of other activities. The event will even have a car show, always a favorite!
Healthy Kids Day
Healthy Kids Day at the Bradenton Riverwalk on April 21st from 10 am – 2 pm is part of a nationwide initiative by the YMCA to improve the health and well-being of children.
