Spring Break Traveling
Spring Break is here. You probably already have your flight booked, and are really looking forward to it. You need to keep your child entertained for the duration. Maybe this is their first flight or just your first trip alone with them. Either way, often times we worry about the glares of the childless passengers when we board the plane. Here are some tips to help everyone enjoy your flight.
Make sure you and your child are prepared for the trip. Talk to them about it ahead of time if they are older. Let them know what to expect so they are a bit familiar with the process before they get there. Explain that they will be sitting in a tight area, and that they could be waiting for a long time.
Have everything organized so that when you do board your flight all your toys, food or anything else they might need is handy.
Bring your child’s favorite toy. You might want to pack a surprise toy as well. Maybe you could pack a bunch of surprises that get introduced along the way.
Movies are a great way to keep them occupied for extended periods of time. Bring along some type of handheld device with movies or television shows already downloaded. And don’t forget chargers!
Have plenty of snacks on hand that can go through security.
If you need help, ask for it. They stewardess will be happy to help you. You will also want to take little walks in the aisle (if possible) to stretch their legs, and maybe get a little attention.
Finally, just give them comfort and reassurance.
