Summer Safety Tips for Kids
Summer is upon us. Here are five summer safety tips for kids.
Your kids are going to want to refresh after a hot day. The first thing they’re going to want to do is go to the pool or the beach. So you want to be sure that they are aware of water safety. Make sure there is a responsible adult watching them and that they’re not distracted. Check out these tips on water safety.
There are many places to go for a great day trip right in our area, so car trips are bound to be plentiful. Before you all set off on a road trip, make sure car seats are installed properly, and fit your child correctly. If there are any lingering questions, you can always take a trip to your local fire department and have them check it out for you. They’re happy to do it to make sure you’re travelling safely.
Children love taking bike rides! If they’re out with their friends, or out on a family ride, it’s important that they’re protected. Bike riding is a great way to get out and explore, and get a little exercise while enjoying the outdoors. Keep your children protected by having them always wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet. Wearing a bike helmet is the best way to prevent serious head injury.
Children are very susceptible to heat stroke. Be extra vigilant to not leave them in a car accidentally, not even for a moment if they’re napping. It’s important year round. This is the leading cause of death for children in non-crash related vehicle deaths.
Summertime is the perfect time to grill, but creates a burn hazard for the little ones. They might be trying to help and not realize that the outsides of the grill get very hot. Teach them to keep a safe distance away from the grilling area.
These are important tips to remember and will help you and your family to have a fun, safe and enjoyable summer to remember.
