Holiday Events 2021

Here are some of the holiday events happening in our area. If you are going to be in close contact with others at these events, we recommend you wear a mask to be safe.

 

Dec 11 – Jan 1 – Enander’s Winter Wonderland – A full display of lights that you can walkthrough.  FREE.  6 PM to 10 PM every night.

 

Dec 11-23, 26-30, and Jan 1-2 – Lights in Bloom®: An Open-air Holiday Light Show – Features more than two million lights plus photo opportunities, children’s arts and crafts, activities, and entertainment.  6 PM to 9 PM.  Get your tickets.

 

Dec 16-19 – The Living Nativity at The Tabernacle Church – A 45-minute, outdoor presentation with live animals, flying angels, and a large cast portraying the birth of Jesus. Free admission, parking, and refreshments.  7:30 PM.

 

Dec 16-19 – Winter Nights Under the Lights – Palma Sola Botanical Park’s Holiday Light display event will be held from 6 PM to 9 PM.  Entry is free, donations are accepted.

 

Dec 17 – Christmas Festival – Enjoy food trucks, a SNOWSLIDE, a petting zoo, and more.  6 PM to 9 PM.  FREE.

 

Dec 17-20 – Hunsader Farms Country Christmas – Enjoy a light display, hayrides, train rides, a petting zoo, holiday movies and music, snow tubing, and more!  Admission is $12 / Kids 5 and under are FREE.  Parking is FREE.  6 PM to 10 PM.

 

Dec 17 – Christmas Movies in the Park – Join Woodland for a free screening of the classic ELF.  Plus enjoy the Family Christmas Bonfire Night.  6 PM to 8 PM.

 

Dec 17 – Holiday Movies Under the Stars – FREE screening of The Santa Clause at 7 PM.

 

Dec 17 – Friday Night Yuletide Performance –  The School of Russian Ballet. Enjoy a holiday performance by The School of Russian Ballet, followed by a performance by youth performers from the local dance studio, Future of Dance.  from 6 PM to 9 PM.  FREE.

 

Dec 17 – The Nutcracker Ballet (performed by Jump Dance) – Get into the holiday spirit with this classic.  7:30 PM. Tickets are $20.

 

Dec 18 – Holiday Music Program – Singer Betty Comora and musician Mike Evans will play light and lively music, including fun Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza tunes, as well as a few great singalongs.  FREE.  11 AM to 12 PM.

 

Dec 18 – Carols by Candlelight – Join Woodland Community Church at UTC Mall for their Carols by Candlelight Service.  Sing along to well-known Christmas Carols, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and spend time with family and new friends.  Free.  Times are at 6 PM and 7 PM.

 

Dec 18 – Holiday Movies Under the Stars – FREE screening of Miracle on 34th Street at 7 PM.

 

Dec 18-19 – Christmas at the Creek – Enjoy cookie tasting, ornament making, poinsettia patch, hot chocolate, photo with Santa, and an indoor farmers market.  9 AM to 1 PM.  FREE.

 

Dec 18-19 – The Nutcracker Ballet (performed by Dance Theatre of Bradenton) – Be transported to Clara’s dream world filled with marching soldiers, dancing dolls, and pirouetting snowflakes.  $35 adults / $21 children.

 

Dec 18-19 – Rye Road Giraffes Christmas Celebration – Make your reservation to bring the entire family down to the farm for an up-close animal, interactive experience!  Also enjoy the live Christmas Carol Circus, pony rides, camel rides, bounce houses, face painting, and more.  Reservation times are at 11 AM and 2 PM.  Admission is $15 adults and $5 children (ages 4 to 10).

 

Dec 18 – “Walk in the Light” – Check out our FREE walk-around Christmas display to see the true meaning of Christmas. It comes complete with free cookies, hot cocoa, and of course Christmas lights!  6 PM to 9 PM.  FREE.

 

Dec 18 – The Ultimate Santa Experience – Enjoy bounce houses, a game room, pictures with Santa, Elsa, and The Grinch, and more!  FREE but space is limited so reservations are required.  11 AM to 2 PM.

 

Dec 18 – Saturday Night Jingle Bell Dance Parties and Fireworks – Tonight is ELF Party with Buddy & Jovie.  Enjoy free Santa’s Workshop craft activities, dance along with their characters, and watch spectacular fireworks show at 9 pm. The nights will also feature face painting, a DJ, magical snowfall and cocktails, and sweet treats.

 

Dec 18 – Winter Wonderland with Santa – Join us for a walk through our Winter Wonderland and meet Santa at the end!  Start with a walk through our Winter Wonderland complete with photo areas, receive take-home winter crafts, breakfast to go, and a very special meeting with the one and only Santa.  FREE but registration is required.  10 AM to 12 PM.

 

Dec 18-19 – Christmas at the Creek – Enjoy cookie tasting, ornament making, poinsettia patch, hot chocolate, photo with Santa, and an indoor farmers market.  9 AM to 1 PM.  FREE.

 

Dec 19 – Christmas on the Peaceful Path – Live music with your favorite seasonal songs, a living nativity across generations, a festive walk through woods glowing with lights, tasty holiday treats, and an open sanctuary. 5 PM to 7 PM. FREE.

 

Dec 19 – Breakfast with Santa at Ed’s Tavern – Santa will be at Ed’s Tavern from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Come share breakfast with Santa! Reserve your seat.

 

Dec 19 – Santa visits South Siesta Key – Bring your children to see Santa Claus and take pictures with him.
Receive a small gift for each child.  3 PM to 5 PM.

 

Dec 19 – St Armands Family Day – Enjoy free fun for the entire family with a special holiday-themed mid-day soiree on the Circle.  11 AM to 1 PM. FREE.

 

Dec 19 – “Snow Much Fun Sundays” – Today: Polar Express Trolley Ride & Outdoor Movie Experience. Get your golden ticket, hop aboard our trolley and take a ride over to our outdoor movie area in the UTC West District to enjoy a showing of The Polar Express under the stars. Hot cocoa and Five-O Donuts will be available for purchase once you de-board our Polar Express Trolley.  6 PM to 9 PM.  FREE but registration is required.

 

Dec 19 – Future of Dance presents A Tea with Santa – Experience a magical 22-minute Broadway-style review featuring your favorite holiday characters and delight in afternoon tea, hot chocolate, and sweet treats.  Tickets are $20 and all proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida.  1 PM to 3 PM.

 

Dec 19 – Santa D at Palmetto Point – FREE!  Donations are accepted for Santa D and also canned foods for the local food banks.  6 PM to 8 PM.

 

Dec 19 – Royal Holiday Ball – Join Belle, Cinderella, Elsa, Anna, and more Disney princesses to celebrate the holidays with a light luncheon, entertainments, storytimes, dancing, crafts, and more.  12 PM to 1:30 PM for ages 4 and under. 2:30 PM to 4 PM for ages 5 and up.  $40 per child and $20 per adult.

Dec 22 – Stelliferous featuring “Star of Kings” – Go on a journey back in time to what was happening in the skies some 2,000 years ago with the Star of Bethlehem.  $8 for members of the Discovery Society; $10 for all others.  7 PM.

 

Dec 22 – Christmas on Main – Enjoy games, rides, and attractions for the whole family followed by a Candlelight Service.  4 PM to 7:30 PM. FREE.

 

Dec 22 – Christmas through the Carols – Sing your favorite Christmas carols with Tabernacle Church, plus there will be a special family activity. Bring your favorite dessert to share – refreshments will be served.  FREE.  7 PM to 9 PM.

 

Dec 23 – Winter Fest 2021 & Outdoor Christmas CandleLight Service – Winterfest will feature food trucks, inflatables, kids and family activities, and live music and will be followed by a Candlelight Service.  FREE.  4 PM to 8:15 PM.

 

Dec 24 – Holiday Movies Under the Stars – FREE screening of Muppet Christmas Carol at 7 PM.

 

Dec 26-30 – Sailor Circus presents “Let It Snow – See students, ages 8 and older flip, fly and soar to new heights in this highly anticipated annual holiday production. The entire family will be thrilled by acts showcasing stunning aerial artistry, heart-stopping acrobatics, dazzling roller skating, lightning-fast juggling, and more all performed by kids! Various showtimes.  Tickets range from $20 to $35.

 

Dec 31 – Holiday Movies Under the Stars – FREE screening of High School Musical at 7 PM.

 

Jan 1 – Holiday Movies Under the Stars – FREE screening of Frozen 2 at 7 PM.
