Fun Activities in January – Manatee County Fair
Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids in January? Look no further, West Coast Pediatrics has you covered!
The Manatee County Fair is back from January 17th through January 27th! Gates open at 5pm week days and 12pm on weekends and holidays.
The Manatee County Fair offers locals many chances to be involved including Fair Queen, Baby Contest, Miss Manatee Pageant, cheerleading competition, hay bale decorating contest, and whip popping contest! There are many clubs which our local youth are involved including the Manatee County 4-H and FFA Clubs. There will be a tasty Charity Barbeque Cook off! Who doesn’t like barbeque?
Of course there are plenty of fair favorites such as fried dough, amusement rides, livestock events, and talented young artist exhibits. For the first time ever, the Manatee County Fair will have a Doggy Pageant! What fair is complete without being able to try your luck in the midway? We could keep going, but if you want to see a list of everything there is to do, check out their schedule for a complete list of dates and times to see which days you want to go! They also have discount days, so plan ahead!
Sarasota Polo Club in Lakewood Ranch is back in action for another season each Sunday. Come out with the family and enjoy one of the oldest team sports in the world that is still popular today. The kids will enjoy the thrill of seeing the horses race up and down the field! Children 12 and under are free. It’s a great time to get together, sit down for a picnic lunch (or tail gate) and enjoy your time together. Did you know they even offer (for children in grades 7-12 who know how to ride) polo lessons?
